PrintPRO 8 for ActiveX - User Guide > How To > Set Up Printer > Set Printer Properties |
PrintPRO™ lets you set or get most printer properties. For example, you can set the orientation of the printer paper and select the paper bin without displaying a dialog box. You cannot be guaranteed that the printer driver supports the printer property you are trying to set. The ErrorCode property will be set to 5016 if a printer property cannot be set.
The following is a list of printer properties supported by PrintPRO:
ColorMode property — Tells the printer to print in color or black and white.
Collate property — Tells the printer to collate multiple copies of a document.
Copies property — Tells the printer how many copies to print. You can determine the number of copies that the printer can print using the NumCopies property.
DitherType property — Tells the printer how to dither.
ICMIntent property — Tells the printer which Image Color Management method to use.
ICMMethod property — Tells the printer how Image Color Management should be handled.
PaperBin property — Tells the printer what paper bin to use. If you don’t know what paper bin to select, you can use the NumBins , BinID and BinName properties to determine the bins supported by the printer.
PaperSize property — Sets the printers paper size. If you don’t know what paper size to select, you can use the NumPapers , PaperID and PaperName properties to determine the papers supported by the printer.
PrintQuality property — Sets the print quality (low, medium, high or a specific DPI).
Duplex property — Tells the printer how to print double sided. You can use the DuplexCap property to determine if the printer supports duplex printing.
Zoom property — Sets the printers scale factor. For example, setting the Zoom property to 50 tells the printer to print at 50/100 or ½ scale.
